Raised so far:  $1,200,000  GOAL:  $1,500,000

In 2006, the Friends of the Sheboygan Marsh spearheaded an effort to construct the tallest wooden observation tower in the State of Wisconsin.  In 2009, that vision became reality and the Sheboygan Marsh Tower was completed.

The Tower stands an impressive 80' tall with footings.  If your knees are too weak for those kinds of heights, you can still view the majestic Sheboygan Marsh scenery from a comfortable stool in the Sheboygan Marsh Lodge Restaurant by using the joystick and associated camera mounted at the top of the tower.

Fundraising for the Tower began with buckets for spare change at a local farmers market and grew into a full-fledged campaign with many donations secured from large foundations and corporate sponsors from throughout the Midwest.

Fast forward to 2021 and the next project that became a reality was the $2.3M Kohler Center for Marsh Education.  Thousands of area school children now attend wetland ecology classes each year in a beautiful state-art-LEED certified-facility.
